I tend to wear clothes until they wear out, especially purely functional sports clothing. So I still have T-shirts I got in the ‘70s, and until recently I also had swim trunks and running shorts from that era. I don’t know if they were “short shorts”, but they weren’t any longer than necessary. I suppose men don’t often wear them anymore because companies aren’t making them anymore, and most of the old ones have worn out.

They are also a very practical clothing item for men that are exercising.
