I would be in a real bind. I have 6 cats and 2 dogs. I talk to my pets every day. I have a friend who makes little gurgling baby sounds to her pets. It drives me crazy that she thinks they’re too dumb to understand anything but gibberish. Never had my own pets really, they always belonged to someone I’m dating or roomig with. My current roomies cat is pretty spoiled and needy, so probably that he’s hungry or thirsty and wants it served a certain way to him. Or to go outside. Probably something along those lines. When I first adopted my last dog, I was having trouble with her. I had been told that she was trained in German and she was 5 years old, but she was not obeying simple commands like “sit”. Finally, I took her to a woman who lived nearby and claimed to be able to communicate with animals. She asked my dog about me and my dog “said” that her last owner was hard, but I was soft. As a Belgian Malinois, I guess that meant she was taking advantage of my gentle nature and not listening to me because I was not being strong enough. It’s hard to find a balance between loving my dog and leading the pack. I hope to do better with my next dog.
