Well, I know some women who wear t-shirts that are designed with men in mind. There are also some women who wear men’s jeans. Most people don’t think of these people as cross-dressers, even though they’re wearing clothing designed for the Clemson Tigers Never Lost A Tailgate Tiger Town, SC Shirt Besides,I will do this opposite sex. This absolutely does fit the dictionary definition of cross-dressing. However, it’s generally accepted as perfectly normal by society, at least in the Midwestern US. It’s when men wear clothing designed for women that people tend to get “all bent out of shape.” That is they think it’s weird or unusual. Here’s the way I look at it. If a woman goes into the men’s department and buys articles of clothing from that section, since they now belong to her, they’re women’s clothing. If a man goes into the women’s department and buys articles of clothing from that section, since they now belong to him, they’re men’s clothing. That whole ’s on the end takes the nouns “men” and “women” and turns them into adjectives describing a relationship between the men or women and an object, in this case, clothing. So my real shorts, though they came from the women’s section of the store, are now men’s shorts, not women’s, since they belong to me, and I am a man. I am therefore not cross-dressing when I wear them.

But here’s the thing: most women’s jeans I’ve tried left this huge gap in the back, because they are designed for people with wider hips and smaller buttocks. So, back in 2006, I started dating a young man (that would later become the love of my life), and one day, after having spent the night at his place, I start getting dressed to leave for work in the morning. So I take it off, and carefully observe it… The jeans are the right color, the right size (30′’ waist), the right cut (559)… I look around the bedroom and finally notice another pair of jeans on the couch nearby. Same color, 30′’ waist, same cut (559)… As it turns out, the day before, he and I had decided to wear the exact same model of Levi’s jeans, down to having chosen the same color… But my theory is that most men’s jeans tend to be slightly looser in the back and between their legs, so that when they sit down, it doesn’t wind up pulling at the fabric at the front, and thus putting significant pressure on this area (for obvious reasons). Women’s jeans have a tendency to give more room for the hips and the thighs on each side (and sometimes a tiny bit in the back), but not so much in the front and the crotch.
