Well, first off not everybody does wear briefs. I started in tights, then went to briefs. Then back to tights, then briefs again. I know you’re wondering why? I entered the ring with a full-length fur coat. I had a rat tail ponytail and fu man chu mustache. When I was with All-Star Championship Wrestling, I wore tights, well, actually we wore briefs over our tights with our names on the back. I was in a Tag Team, I was Kid Dynamite and my partner was Cory Stevens, together we were known as “The Smurf’s”. I know that name doesn’t sound imposing, does it? Well, we went my our names at first but the Tag Team Champions, The Masked Medic’s on TV came out and did an interview where they said, “Hey we’re the Tag Team Champions, so why do we have to wrestle these little guys? We want some competition, we could beat these guys blindfolded. These guys are nothing but a couple of Smurf’s.” Well, the match went on and we damn well, almost beat them, they had to cheat to beat us (the promoter was pushing us).

At one point we sold more merchandise than any other tag team with the promotion. We did win the Tag Team Titles from “The Masked Medic’s” in Columbus, Georgia in front of 4 thousand fans, most of them cheering for us and made $250 apiece on merchandise sales. Which wasn’t bad in the 1980s. My partner Cory got married and retired for a little while I went back to singles wrestling then and stayed with briefs over tights. I kept my name Kid Dynamite and wrestled in South Carolina Championship Wrestling. During this time some guys wrestled in briefs and some didn’t. Hell, it didn’t matter to me what anyone wore. I was doing my job and having fun.
