I think you are really refering to men. There are unfortunately some ignorant people out there in public or even family members who think that masculinity must be protected by men wearing masculine clothing. These people think that femininity is a poor choice and men must be men. The problem with that is no one has any right to say what clothes are feminine and what is masculine, therefore all clothes are in reality, unisex. These people may use violence, ridicule or just shun those men who dare to be different. But they should know this, with some irony, that a real man wears whatever he likes whether others like it or not, lesser men conform to what society tells them what they can and can’t wear. If today’s women are brave enough to wear what they like then so can men.
I have not heard of that. I have heard of wearing miltuple petticoats or underskirts but not just multiple skirts. I actually wore 3 petticoats under a dress once to get it to poof out where I wanted it. I have known people that wore two skirts of different lengths for a layered look, but they told me that they would ONLY do that for events where they had to stand all the Ain’t the Beer Cold Baltimore Orioles Ornament in other words I will buy this time as the waistbands tended to hurt after sitting for any length of time. I have never heard of people wearing three or four at a time for any reason. I really don’t see hoe this could be comfortable. Sometimes a single skirt could have several layers of material to create the right effect – but I have no idea why anybody would ever wear several skirts at once.
