I’ve asked for years. I feel very comfortable shopping and wearing woman’s clothing and lingerie. But I like the thought that my clothes fit me and I have the choice to wear something more feminine if I feel so.
I’ll substitute “granddaughter” for “children” because that’s who I buy clothes for. The short answer is no, not any more. She doesn’t like them and won’t wear them. I’ve bought her plenty of jeans and tee-shirts. She used to wear them, but now she wants to wear dresses with leggings, or even one of her princess dresses if she can. (Her mom gave away a ton of perfectly good tees, jeans, pants, and shorts, some unworn.) She’s a girly-girl through and through, albeit one who likes dinosaurs and building things. She likes purple and pink, sparkle and glitter, tulle tutus, and tiaras. She has never been pushed to be girly. It comes naturally to her. And why not? She’s no less smart or self assured because of it.
